FC Dallas saw plenty of changes throughout 2018 and kept that trend going in Sunday's half-day trade window, trading forward Maxi Urruti to the Montreal Impact in exchange in exchange for $75,000 in Targeted Allocation Money and a first-round pick in the 2019 MLS SuperDraft (No. 10 overall). MLSsoccer.com's Sam Stejskal had previously reported Urruti would be dealt to an Eastern Conference team. His acquisition will be confirmed after he receives his international transfer certificate and undergoes his medical.

Urruti, 27, has been a regular fixture for FC Dallas in his three years at the club. He featured in at least 30 regular-season games in each of his seasons in Dallas, totaling 29 goals and 20 assists in that period, plus another postseason goal. He also helped Dallas secure both the Supporters' Shield and U.S. Open Cup titles in 2016.

"I am very satisfied with Maximiliano Urruti's arrival to the team," said Impact head coach Remi Garde in a statement. "His experience in the league, his winning mentality, and his qualities as a finisher will be considerably useful for our group."

Montreal will be getting a versatile, hard-working forward with plenty of MLS experience. Prior to his time in Dallas, Urruti played for the Portland Timbers from 2013-2015, largely featuring off the bench en route to a 2015 MLS Cup win. He also briefly played for Toronto FC upon his arrival in MLS.

FC Dallas will also retain 50 percent of any transfer value on Urruti outside of MLS before the first game of the 2019 season with additional future considerations beyond that.
