FC Dallas are engaged in serious talks to trade forward Maxi Urruti to an Eastern Conference club, sources have told MLSsoccer.com.

The sources said it’s likely that Urruti will be moved in the post-MLS Cup half-day trade window on Sunday. They did not know which Eastern Conference team is in talks to acquire him or what FCD is looking for in return for the 27-year-old Argentine.

Urruti had eight goals and 11 assists in 33 regular-season appearances in 2018. He has 29 goals and 20 assists in 95 appearances across three full seasons with Dallas, who acquired him in Stage One of the 2015 MLS Re-Entry Draft.

Prior to moving to Texas, Urruti spent two-plus seasons with Portland. He tallied 15 goals and five assists in 65 regular-season appearances for the Timbers, whom he helped to the 2015 MLS Cup title.

Urruti signed a new three-year contract with Dallas in March.
