FC Dallas acquires extra Youth International spot from Colorado

DALLAS - FC Dallas President and General Manager Michael Hitchcock announced today that the club has acquired an additional Youth International spot from the Colorado Rapids in exchange for a third round pick in the 2007 MLS SuperDraft and a third round pick in the 2007 MLS Supplemental Draft.

With the trade, the Hoops now have four Youth International spots available to Head Coach Colin Clarke. Last season FC Dallas had three Youth Internationals on its roster in Roberto Mina and Ramon Nunez, each of whom will again be classified as a Youth International, as well as defender Winston Marshall who has chosen to retire.

Per MLS rules, a Youth International is a non-domestic player (i.e., non-U.S. citizen and non-green card holder) who is 24 years old or younger.

With the trade, FC Dallas now holds five picks in next year's four round MLS SuperDraft.
