NEW YORK (Tuesday, October 28, 2025) – Major League Soccer announced today that FC Cincinnati’s goalkeeper Roman Celentano has claimed the 2025 MLS Save of the Year for his incredible multi-save sequence during their match against Nashville SC in the 50th minute on March 29 (Watch Here). Celentano also won the award in 2023 and is now the fourth goalkeeper in MLS history to earn the honor multiple times, joining Stefan Frei, Kasey Keller, and Nick Rimando (three).

With the score tied 1-1 in the second half, Hany Mukhtar of Nashville SC chipped the ball to his teammates Alex Muyl and Sam Surridge as they attempted to tap it in, but Celentano made a spectacular save with one hand and as the ball rebounded, Nashville attempted another shot at the goal which was blocked by Celentano in quick succession.

Celentano’s multiple saves helped FC Cincinnati come from behind to win the match, 2-1.

The 2025 MLS Save of the Year, an award established in 2009, is determined by fan votes on MLSsoccer.com.
