Charlotte FC on Brink of History
The hottest team in Major League Soccer has the chance to officially stamp its name in the record book on Saturday, as Charlotte FC aims to win its ninth consecutive regular-season match as the club welcomes Inter Miami CF to Bank of America Stadium (7:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV). The Queen City club continues its climb up the Eastern Conference table, currently sitting in third place with 50 points (16-11-2) and only two points behind FC Cincinnati (52 points, 16-9-4) for the conference’s second slot.
With a victory over the Herons, Charlotte would match the longest single-season winning streak in MLS history (excluding the shootout era), trailing only the 2018 Seattle Sounders FC squad, which won nine consecutive matches from July 21 to Sept. 15, 2019. Charlotte hasn’t lost a game since June 28 against the Chicago Fire at Soldier Field and are also unbeaten in the club’s last seven matches at home dating back to May 24.

Joveljić Jolts into SKC Record Book
Acquired from the LA Galaxy prior to the 2025 season in a cash-for-player trade, forward Dejan Joveljić has been a force for Sporting Kansas City, leading the club with a career-high 17 goals in 27 matches this season, including four scores across his last four matches. Joveljić sits just three goals off the lead for the MLS Golden Boot presented by Audi and became only the third player in MLS history to score 15 or more goals in consecutive seasons for different clubs, after notching 15 goals for the Galaxy in 2024.
With a goal at Real Salt Lake on Saturday (9:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV), the Serbian striker would tie Preki (18 goals in 1996) for the second-most goals in a single season in Sporting Kansas City history. Dom Dwyer, who scored 22 goals in 2014, owns the club’s single-season scoring record.

Dreyer Dropping Dimes for San Diego
One of the leading candidates for the Landon Donovan MLS MVP award, San Diego FC midfielder Anders Dreyer leads MLS in both goal contributions (32) and assists (18) as the season races towards the finish. Dreyer’s 18 assists are four more than the next-closest player (Orlando City SC’s Martín Ojeda, 14) and his 32 goal contributions sit three ahead of Inter Miami’s Lionel Messi (29) through Matchday 32.
With a pair of assists against Minnesota United FC on Saturday (10:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV), Dreyer would become only the fourth player in MLS history to record at least 20 assists in a single season and the first to accomplish the feat since New York City FC’s Maxi Moralez, who had 20 helpers for the club in 2019. Sacha Kljestan (20 assists in 2016) and Carlos Valderrama (26 assists in 2000) are the only other players to accomplish the feat.

Zinckernagel Contributing to Chicago History
Chicago Fire FC remains in the fight for a spot in the Audi 2025 MLS Cup Playoffs and instrumental to the club’s charge to the playoffs has been 2025 MLS All-Star midfielder Philip Zinckernagel. The Danish star has made the most of his debut MLS season, recording 25 goal contributions (12 goals, 13 assists) in 26 matches this season, which are tied for the fourth-most in the league.
Zinckernagel owns the second-most goal contributions in a single season in club history and trails only Nemanja Nikolić (28 goal contributions in 2017) for the most contributions in Fire history. A standout performance against New York City FC on Saturday night (8:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV / Apple TV+) could move him closer to that record-setting mark as the club aims to stay right in the thick of the postseason race.

Wolff Finding Winning Touch for Austin
Currently positioned in sixth place in the Western Conference table, Austin FC (41 points 11-9-8) has matched its win total from 2024 in just 28 games this season as the club continues to its pursuit of its first playoff berth since 2022. Twenty-year-old midfielder Owen Wolff has had a breakout season as a clutch performer for the Verde and Black this year, recording the game-winning goal contribution in six of the club’s 11 wins this season.
With a game-winning goal or assist against FC Dallas on Saturday night (8:30 p.m. ET, MLS Season Pass on Apple TV / Apple TV+), Wolff would surpass Maxi Urruti (six) in 2022 for the most game-winning goal contributions in a single season in club history. Urruti helped lead Austin FC to the Western Conference Final in that season, en route to the club’s best finish in its five-year MLS history.
