Like the horde of politicians on Capitol Hill, D.C. United defender Bobby Boswell is on the campaign trail.

But Boswell isn't trying to convince voters he's got a tax plan that works or that he can tackle national security. He's trying to convince voters he's hot.

From Oct. 10-12, fans can vote at cosmopolitan.com, the official Web site of Cosmopolitan magazine, to help Boswell earn the magazine's "Bachelor of the Year" title. Boswell will be featured in Cosmopolitan's November issue, which appears on newsstands on Oct. 17; he was selected as Virginia's representative in the magazine's list of the 50 hottest bachelors in the United States.

Starting Tuesday, cosmopolitan.com will feature an online profile and video clip of Boswell. In the video, Boswell tells fans about all of the qualities he possesses that make him the obvious choice for "Bachelor of the Year" and then demonstrates those qualities ... with mixed results.

"My friends and teammates would definitely say that I am probably the hardest working guy on the team," he says as the camera cuts to a shot of him napping in the weight room while his teammates work out.

Currently in his second full season with United and a leading contender for the league's Defender of the Year award, Boswell has become a mainstay in the United backline.

The former Florida International University standout has started in 29 games for the Black-and-Red this season, and earned his first trip to the MLS All-Star Game in July. Boswell has chipped in a goal and an assist for United this season, while playing the second-most minutes (2,610) on the team.
