D.C. UNITED 2, TORONTO FC 1

TORONTO FC HEAD COACH MO JOHNSTON

Thoughts on the game:
"There was a period in the second half for about 20 minutes I felt we were kind of running in quicksand, then they got the second goal off the penalty and then all of sudden we start coming back into the game and we start throwing bodies forward and we start getting chances. I'm very disappointed for our guys in there because they left everything on the field today."

On the Benfica friendly coming on - and if he'll rotate the squad:
"I think we have to. No disrespect to Benfica coming in here but we have some tired bodies in there, and playing three games on that field and training is very tough. I felt the guys handled themselves well, as you can see everyone that's coming in here it's not an easy game for them. We're fighting for every ball, we're challenging and we're still growing as a team."

TORONTO FC MIDFIELDER CARL ROBINSON

If tiredness was a factor today:
"I think that's the easy way out, it's a cop-out, I don't think you can use that (as an excuse), I think we huffed and puffed today. We got into a good position at halftime we were one-nil up, then second half you know, their first goal sort of killed us, and put them on the front foot. And then from the last half hour they sort of took grip of the game and dominated possession. A few decisions went against us which we were disappointed about, but you have to look at the bigger picture."

TORONTO FC FORWARD ALECKO ESKANDARIAN

On playing against his former club:
"It was my first time playing against my old team in my professional career, and I had a lot of emotions. I wanted to do well, it felt good to get a goal, but obviously I would rather have had the result - so pretty bittersweet."

On how his calf held up:
"It felt OK. I felt like I could have stayed on -- I was hoping to play at least 80 [minutes] today. I thought I had another goal in me as well, so, I didn't want to come out of the game. But Mo has confidence in our other forwards and I was hoping that they'd get the winning goal, but that's how it goes sometimes."

D.C. UNITED HEAD COACH TOM SOEHN

On if his team is starting to gain momentum after their rocky start:
"Yeah, I think, you know the mentality's better. I was disappointed in the first half but to come back in the second half and show the energy we did, there's still a lot to work on, but we're heading in the right direction."

On what happened on the first goal:
"I don't know, I'll have to look at the tape again. I give Toronto credit they came out fighting and hustling like they have in the last two games and I think they've made a lot of strides so, and Esky if you give him a chance he's going to punish you."

D.C UNITED FORWARD JAIME MORENO

His thoughts on game:
"I think it was a tough game, it wasn't pretty but you know we got the three points."

What was said at halftime:
"We knew that we didn't have a good first half. We were flat and we just to had to come out and be more aggressive and take chances and we did and luckily we got a goal."

D.C. UNITED DEFENDER BOBBY BOSWELL

If they "froze" during Toronto's goal:
"I think it happened so quick it didn't matter where guys were it's one of those plays where it hits someone, takes a bounce and is right back to him, you know he's got a sitter - there's where he makes his money. It's unfortunate, we'll watch the video and see what we can do differently, but the important part is how we reacted and came back and got the 'W'."
