D.C. hosts Veterans Appreciation Day

Washington, D.C. - D.C. United, in conjunction with the Department of Veterans Affairs and Gatorade, announced details for the Second Annual Veterans Appreciation Day on Saturday, October 13 to honor all area Veterans who have answered the call in defense of our nation. Kick-off for Saturday's game against the Chicago Fire is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Tickets are available to all area Veterans for $15 in advance and $20 day of the game by calling D.C.     Veterans Appreciation Day will showcase the Department of Veterans Affairs and several Veterans Service Organizations, and will be highlighted by a Decade of Veterans Salute and a performance by the U.S. Coast Guard Drill Team.  Associate sponsors America Supports You, Lockheed Martin and the USO of Metropolitan Washington have also helped make this event possible.  Special guests include the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the Assistant Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs. </p>


    Following a draw with the Kansas City Wizards on Friday, United (16-6-6, 54 points) sits in first place in Major League Soccer, five points clear of New England in the Eastern Conference.
