Crew defeat Chilean power Universidad Catolica

Columbus defeated Chilean power Universidad Catolica 4-1 in an international match played tonight at Crew Stadium.


Crew rookie Knox Cameron paced The Crew with two goals, while newcomer Chris Henderson chipped in three assists on the night.


Crew defender Chad Marshall started off the scoring for The Crew with a goal in the 43rd minute off a Henderson cross. However, Univerisdad Catolica evened the score at 1-1 with an Albert Acevedo goal in first half stoppage time.


Cameron collected his first goal of the night in the 46th minute to put the Crew up 2-1, and added his second goal in the 60th minute. Henderson assisted on both Cameron goals.


Cornell Glen finished up the scoring for the night with a goal in the 74th minute, assisted by Marcus Storey.


Columbus returns to MLS action next Saturday, June 11, vs. the Colorado Rapids at 4:00 p.m. at Crew Stadium. The Crew Reserves take on the Colorado Reserves at 6:30 p.m. following the afternoon game.
