Chicago Fire defender Jonathan Campbell has been sidelined for an estimated six weeks by a facial fracture, the club announced on Sunday.

Campbell suffered the injury – specifically diagnosed as a compressed fracture of the zygomaticomaxillary complex on his left side – in the second half of the Fire's preseason match against Nashville SC on Feb. 21.

The third-year center back will undergo surgery on Monday. A first-round 2016 SuperDraft selection, Campbell started 30 games as a rookie but saw his minutes dip in 2017.

MLS Fantasy Impact: Campbell's teammate Christian Dean (also $4.5) could be the next man up in Chicago, while the LA Galaxy's Ashley Cole carries the same $4.5 price tag. Start playing!
