Bheem Goyal sees Make-A-Wish dream come true with Seattle Sounders

Most of us can only dream of playing alongside European superstars or our favorite MLS team.

But on Wednesday night, 8-year-old Bheem Goyal turned those wishes into reality, starting in goal for the Seattle Sounders in their home friendly against Bundesliga and Champions League club Borussia Dortmund.

Goyal made a save directly from opening kick in the first half, then was substituted out to a roar from the fans in attendance at CenturyLink Field. He even got a run of high-fives from the Sounders’ substitutes and coaching staff.

Earlier this week, the Sounders teamed up with Make-A-Wish to help brighten a tough spell for Goyal. He’s currently fighting leukemia and even trained with the Rave Green, participating in drills alongside Stefan Frei. Goyal had his jersey signed by players, too.

Seattle fell to Dortmund, 3-1, but it’s safe to say Goyal will never forget his moment in the spotlight.
