American Exports: Bradley shines in loss to AC Milan

Michael Bradley, Chievo Verona

AMSTERDAM — A few Americans clocked in across the Atlantic on Tuesday, with Michael Bradley widely rated by the Italian press as Chievo's top performer in a 1-0 loss to defending champs AC Milan.

Apart from a string of flat restart serves, the US midfielder was on top form bossing central park as the home side posted a surprising advantage in possession and shots against the Rossoneri. Just after the break, Bradley fed Sergio Pelissier with a pinpoint cross, only for the Chievo top gun to misfire over the bar.

The defeat halted a four-game unbeaten streak to keep the Flying Donkeys stalled in ninth place.

Over in the Bundesliga, Alfredo Morales went unused as relegation bait Hertha Berlin stayed next-to-last with a 2-1 home loss to Freiburg.

Finally, in Israel, Leo Krupnick and Maccabi Netanya were bounced from the State Cup quarterfinals by a 1-0 loss to visiting holders Hapoel Tel Aviv. The former New York Red Bull put in a strong full shift, with key saving tackles both before and after the visitors broke the ice near the hour mark.
