Chicago Fire FC reveal four themes as process of creating new crest continues

Chicago Fire FC - new crest announcement

The Chicago Fire provided a significant update in their process of creating a new crest for the club, sharing the four themes that supporters want represented in the crest.

The themes are: the flag of the city of Chicago, the six-pointed star that appears on the flag, the letter C, and the Florian cross that was the base for the club's first crest.

The Fire said it came up with these themes after reading more than 15,000 responses from supporters eager to offer their thoughts on the crest. Per the team, those were the themes that emerged regularly from those messages and as a result, the club said those four themes "will be the sole focus for developing a crest for all Chicago."

The club said it received messages from people in all 77 neighborhoods of Chicago, more than 150 Illinois cities, 28 US states, and 10 countries outside of the US. The club will now work with MLS, adidas and Matt Wolff, who designed the LAFC and New York City FC crests, to create a logo in time for the 2022 season.
