UPDATE (February 17, 5:20 pm ET): A deal looks likely between Inter Miami and Stoke City, with The Telegraph's John Percy saying the two teams are "very close" to agreeing a deal for Ryan Shawcross.
Ryan Shawcross move to #InterMiamiCF now very close, after finalising an agreement with #scfc over the remainder of his contract. Will go down as one of Stoke's best ever signings - at just £1m - from United in 2008.— John Percy (@JPercyTelegraph) February 17, 2021
TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
The Sentinel's Peter Smith is reporting that Miami are interested in bringing Shawcross stateside amid uncertainty regarding his future at Stoke, where he has been a stalwart since 2007.
Shawcross was left out of Stoke City's matchday squad for their last match against Reading with manager Michael O'Neill explaining that the move was due to "an ongoing situation" regarding "interest from an MLS club".
The 33-year-old center back has dealt with injuries recently, but is reportedly fully fit. He's a club legend at Stoke, where he's racked up 375 league appearances since 2007 and served as the team captain.
Inter Miami, meanwhile, are looking to revamp their roster under newly hired head coach Phil Neville coming off an underwhelming 2020 expansion season.
