TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report
However, a club source tells MLSsoccer.com that Gimenez regularly receives interest from teams around the world but there’s no chance that he’ll depart the Fire this winter.
Per the report, Gimenez would help Boca bolster their squad as they look to win the Copa Libertadores for the first time since 2007. The report also suggests that Boca value Gimenez's versatility. Boca are familiar with the 29-year-old because he spent the entirety of his career in Argentina before joining the Fire in 2020. Gimenez also has one cap for the Argentina national team, but has since filed a one-time switch to represent Paraguay.
Gimenez was a key figure for the Fire in his first season in Chicago, playing 18 games and picking up three assists.
