TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
FC Dallas have acquired Venezuelan winger Freddy Vargas on loan from Deportivo Lara, the club announced Friday. The deal includes a purchase option for Dallas.
Vargas, 21, has featured for the Venezuelan U-20 national team. He has made 113 career appearances with Deportivo Lara, with five goals and four assists. He primarily played on the left during his time there.

The move furthers Dallas' shift on the wings. The club traded Fafa Picatul (to Houston) and Michael Barrios (to Colorado) already this offseason, while already signing Jader Obrian before Vargas.
Dallas made the playoffs in 2020 and advanced past the Portland Timbers after penalties in Round One.
