Inter Miami CF are poised for a front office makeover before their second MLS season, with The Washington Post's Steven Goff reporting that they're interested in landing Seattle Sounders sporting director and vice president of soccer Chris Henderson.
The interest comes after Paul McDonough left his role as sporting director in December. Head coach Diego Alonso and the club mutually agreed to part ways last week as well, with co-owner and president of soccer operations David Beckham also reportedly becoming more active in the club's soccer-related decisions.
Henderson has been with Seattle since the club's inaugural MLS season in 2009. They've won two MLS Cups, a Supporters' Shield and four U.S. Open Cups since coming into the league. Henderson works closely with general manager and president of soccer Garth Lagerwey, dealing with everything from scouting to Seattle's academy.
A former US men's national team midfielder in the 1990s and early 2000s, Henderson played in 317MLS matches, contributing 51 goals and 80 assists during his playing days. He was part of the Colorado Rapidsduring the inaugural 1996 MLS season before retiring in 2006 as a member of the New York Red Bulls.
