TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing

D.C. United and forward Adrien Perez have agreed to a contract, the club announced Wednesday. United selected Perez in the Re-Entry Draft last month.

Perez, 25, previously played for LAFC where he made 21 appearances (three starts) over two seasons. The forward was signed by LAFC after starring in the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) with the Ottawa Fury.

“We are excited to acquire a player of Adrien’s quality in the Re-Entry Draft,” GM & VP of soccer operations Dave Kasper said in a club statement. “He is an attacking and creative player who has impressed us in his first two MLS seasons with LAFC. Adrien will add some depth and competition at forward and we’re looking forward to welcoming him to the club.”

The move gives United another option up top, who can play through the center or on either wing. D.C. have Ola Kamara and Erik Sorga as natural center forwards plus a number of options on either wing.

D.C. are in the final stages of their head coach search as well.
