Re-live San Jose Earthquakes memorable 2020 season in hour-long documentary

San Jose Earthquakes playoff-clinching celebration

The 2020 Major League Soccer season didn’t end with a championship for the San Jose Earthquakes, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a memorable year.

When the Quakes clinched a berth in the Audi 2020 MLS Cup Playoffs that seemed unlikely at one point, MLS goal king Chris Wondolowski said these Goonies were “made for 2020.”

“We joke, and I say this facetiously, that our team is made for 2020, 2020 is crazy. We’re mayhem. That’s what our team is made for,” Wondolowski said following a 3-2 win over LAFC. “It’s why we love it. I wish we could be a little bit sharper and didn’t have to endure all the valleys. I love how high the mountains are. We have to make sure our valleys aren’t too low and stay more even keeled, but our team is made for 2020.”

There were indeed wild rollercoaster rides in 2020, which included remarkable come-from-behind wins, a first postseason berth since 2017 and a thrilling Round One playoff match against Sporting Kansas City which ended with a historic penalty kick shootout.

You can re-live it all in an hour-long documentary appropriately entitled “Mayhem: The 2020 San Jose Earthquakes Documentary”
