New York Red Bulls' Caden Clark dishes on his favorite US men's national team players, Lionel Messi

Caden Clark - New York Red Bulls - hands raised

Caden Clark is one of the most talked-about young players in MLS at the moment and as he's finding out, that comes with some increased media obligations.

The New York Red Bulls' 17-year-old midfielder joined ESPN's Taylor Twellman for an interview released Wednesday where he talks about a wide variety of topics, including his upbringing in Minnesota, his worship of Lionel Messi, whom he once watched train on a trip to Barcelona, and his favorite players to watch on the US men's national team.

Regarding the USMNT, Clark said he's been enamored with watching the talented group coming up in the midfield that includes a former Red Bull in Tyler Adams, as well as Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie and Chelsea's Christian Pulisic.

"I enjoy watching the whole squad play because I think they bring a lot of talent," Clark said. "And it's new talent, it's new energy, young energy. But if I had to say one player, I really do enjoy watching that creative midfield. You have Tyler, Weston, Christian ā€” if he's in the midfield or out wide ā€” so I think it's a really cool combo. It's dangerous for sure."
