FC Cincinnati are continuing to evolve their roster and have been linked with another reinforcement.

According to journalist Pete O'Rourke, FC Cincinnati are one of a few clubs interested in signing free agent English midfielder Marcus Maddison. They face competition from Championship side Derby County and Belgium's Zulte Waregem.

Maddison, 26, is currently without a club but spent most of his senior career with Peterborough United in League One, the English third tier. He made 249 appearances with the club, adding 62 goals and 92 assists. He spent the second half of 2019/20 on loan with Hull City in the Championship but made just seven appearances with the club.

A versatile attacker, Maddison has spent most of his games at attacking midfield, right or left wing. He is known as a free kick specialist, scoring seven goals from direct free kicks in his career.

This summer, Cincy traded away Kekuta Manneh and Fatai Alashe before signing Kamohelo Mokotjo as a free agent. He was most recently with Brentford, in the Championship as well.
