New York City FC will again use Red Bull Arena as a second home venue for its three home matches in Phase 1 of the 2020 MLS regular season that was announced on Saturday, and up to six additional home matches during Phase 2, the club has announced.

The Cityzens previously used Red Bull Arena for a pair of Concacaf Champions League home matches earlier this year.

Yankee Stadium, the club's primary home venue, is unavailable due to COVID-19 health and safety protocols that prevent other events in Major League Baseball stadiums during the baseball season. The club will have the option to move any home games scheduled after the conclusion of the New York Yankees' season to Yankee Stadium.

Currently, the Yankees are scheduled to wrap their regular season on Sept. 27, though they are among the favorites to make a deep postseason run.

NYCFC's first home game at Red Bull Arena will be played on Aug. 24 against Columbus Crew SC. The Cityzens also open Phase 1 of the MLS regular season at the stadium, but as the road team against the New York Red Bulls.

Phase 1 of the MLS schedule runs through Sept. 14. The remaining 12 games for all 26 teams in Phase 2 will be announced at a later date.
