TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Reports

UPDATE (Aug. 21): It appears the Loons are in the stretch drive, with Emanuel Reynoso expected in market for a physical next week, according to a Minnesota United spokesperson. Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press was the first to report, while ESPN, citing sources, reported the deal is done.

UPDATE (Aug. 6): New reporting out of Argentina suggests that that Emanuel Reynoso's move to Minnesota United could be on. According to Ole.com's Sergio Maffei, Reynoso is soon to depart Boca Juniors, with the Loons to be made official as his next destination in the coming days.

UPDATE (Aug. 3): During a conference call, Loons manager Adrian Heath said he hoped for a resolution to negotiations with Emanuel Reynoso and Boca Juniors soon.

"It’s something that we would like to do, and I think it’s something that’s getting closer," Heath said. "If we can get it over the line, that would be great. If we can’t, then we’ll have to move on. Because it’s getting to that stage now where we really need to have a definitive answer one way or the other.

Heath made clear this was not to suggest they didn't highly rate the 24-year-old.

"We think he’s an extremely talented player," he said. "But it’s been going on a long time now. And I’d like a resolution to be one way or the other, in the next few weeks if possible."

Minnesota United are closing in on landing Boca Juniors midfielder Emanuel “Bebelo” Reynoso, according to multiple reports.

This is not the first time the club have been linked to the 24-year-old, with a deal in February halted just before the finish line.

According to a report from TyC Sports, the Loons are in “advanced negotiations” for Reynoso with coach Adrian Heath confirming the active talks.

"[The Reynoso deal], it's still ongoing," Heath told ESPN. "I think it's one of them things that everybody knows we were really interested. We were very close at one stage and then all this has come, but it is something that's still ongoing.”

Reynoso is in his third year with Boca and has a contract that expires in 2022. He has five goals and eight assists in 66 appearances for the Argentine giants following a move from Club Atletico Talleres.

Heath said Reynoso might not be the only player Minnesota United are targeting.

"We have three roster spots to fill, a couple of Designated Player positions," he said. "If things cropped up where we thought we could do something, we would still do something.”
