Orlando City SC forward Daryl Dike posted a lengthy call for change on his Instagram page on Thursday, as protests continue around the globe against police brutality and racism following the killing of George Floyd.

In the post, Dike recounts his experience growing up as a Black man, as well the need for everyone to do their part to push the discussions of these issues forward and spark institutional changes.

"Racism extends farther than just George Floyd’s death," Dike wrote. "Every day we see many of our brothers and sisters placed in prejudiced conditions due to racism, but do nothing about it. We choose to remain silent. By not saying anything, we are accepting the positions we have been placed in. Not anymore. Enough is enough. Now is the time we speak and act together to destroy racism.

"We need every person to help this situation no matter how much voice you think you have. Every contribution helps whether it be protesting, donating, spreading the word, or simply educating yourself and your peers."

Dike, 20, is in his first MLS season after he was selected fifth overall by Orlando in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft. Read his full statement below.
