MLS Idle: Soccer's Hidden Talents, Episode 5 features several twists

The tables were turned for Week 5 of MLS Idle: Soccer's Hidden Talents on Thursday, as Stuart Holden of FOX Sports joined as a guest judge. The former Houston Dynamo midfielder also brought in surprise guest judges, Philadelphia Union's Alejandro Bedoya and US Women's national team forward Lynn Williams.

But what made the episode most thrilling – or cringey, depending on who you ask – is that the regular MLS Idle hosts became contestants. Yes, that's right, Susannah Collins and Charlie Davies, along with MLSsoccer.com’s Jillian Sakovits and eMLS star Stephen Keel all showed off their particular talents.

Fans can vote now to pick the Week 5 winner by posting #MLSIdle and their favorite performer’s last name on Twitter or in the Facebook Live comments. Voting closes Sunday, May 10 at 11:59 pm ET and the final tally will be announced next Thursday.

Last week's winner was also revealed during the show, with the honor going to Inter Miami midfielder Wil Trapp for his impressive rendition of the Uncle Kracker classic "Follow Me." It was a tight finish, though, showing that every vote counts.

  • Wil Trapp (Miami) - 32%
  • Tom Pettersson (FC Cincinnati) - 26%
  • Gianluca Busio (Sporting KC) - 22%
  • Aboubacar Keita (Columbus) - 20%

Trapp joins past winners Rolf Feltscher of the LA Galaxy, Andrew Wheeler-Omiunu of the Sacramento Republic and Portland Timbers midfielder Diego Valeri.

MLS WORKS makes a $1,000 donation in honor of each weekly winner to a local charity designated by his club.

Fans are encouraged to submit their own talent videos by posting them on social media with the hashtag #MLSIdle. The show’s producers will reach out to select fans and request permission to share their performance on a future episode of MLS Idle.
