LAFC's approach to virtual training during the coronavirus suspension, explained

Maintaining fitness while the league's training moratorium is in effect is a difficult challenge every team around MLS is facing.


To that end, Kevin Baxter of the Los Angeles Times has detailed some of the intricate tactices LAFC are using to replicate training as best they can in a virtual setting, under head performance coach Daniel Guzman.


Those tactics include setting up mini-workout facilities in each players home that are capable of being monitored online via heart-rate monitors.


"We can measure what's important to us and then give them feedback based on their individual needs," Guzman told Baxter.
