US national team pool goalkeeper William Yarbough says he is headed to the Colorado Rapids.

Yarbrough thanked fans at Liga MX's Club Leon in an apparent public farewell before making a move to join coach Robin Fraser's side, a move he confirmed when asked by a reporter. The transaction was also confirmed by the Denver Post but not yet made official by the Rapids. Club Leon also took to Twitter to recognize the 30-year-old's service to the club.

Born in Mexico to American parents, Yarbrough has played his entire professional career at Leon, including a stretch of five consecutive seasons as the club's No. 1 choice in goal, in which he helped La Fiera to two Liga MX titles. In the past two years, however, he has only played in seven league matches.

Internationally, Yarbrough's last appearance for the US came in a 2016 friendly, but he was also on the bench for three Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers in the 2018 FIFA World Cup cycle. He was also a reserve for the 2015 Concacaf Gold Cup.

Clint Irwin started in goal in Colorado's season opener, a 2-1 away victory at D.C. United last Saturday.
