Inter Miami CF's first preseason closed with a 1-0 victory over USL Championship side Tampa Bay Rowdies on Saturday, with rookie forward Robbie Robinson scoring the game's lone goal.
Robinson, the No. 1 overall selection in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft, scored in the 21st minute after receiving a ball from Jay Chapman and slotting home what turned out to be the decisive finish.
The goal provided Miami with the momentum needed to dominate the remainder of the first half, and eventually much of the second. The Rowdies had their chances late in the match, including a goal in the 77th minute that was disallowed by VAR. Despite both sides' efforts, neither found another goal and the MLS side won out.
