New York City FC head into the uncomfortable home confines of Red Bull Arena for the second leg of the Concacaf Champions League Round of 16 with a very comfortable two-goal advantage over AD San Carlos Wednesday night.


NYCFC racked up five away goals in a convincing 5-3 victory over San Carlos in the first leg with Heber scoring his first NYCFC hat trick. Alex Callens made it 4-1 in the 61st minute before San Carlos roared back to pull within one on goals by Marcos Mena and Omar Browne. Alexandru Mitrita closed things out with a stoppage-time goal to close out a memorable CCL debut for NYCFC. 


The winner advances to the quarterfinals to face either Allianza or Tigres UANL. Alianza leads 2-1 heading into the second leg at Estadio Universitario Wednesday night.
