UPDATE: FEB. 19, 6 pm ET — Inter Miami have reached a deal with Boca Juniors to acquire 20-year-old Agustin Almendra on loan with an option to buy, according to a report Argentina sports daily Olé. All that remains is a team physical before the deal can be made official, according to Olé.

The report also indicates that Boca were influenced into making a deal for the promising youngster in part because of a lack of interest in some of the club's older players, including Miguel Russo, Ivan Marcone and Ramon Abila.

Rodolfo Pizarro remains the talk of the town at the moment for Inter Miami, but the expansion side might not be done dealing ahead of its inaugural MLS campaign.

According to multiple Friday reports out of Argentina, Inter Miami are in talks with Boca Juniors about the sale of 20-year-old Almendra, with a deal reportedly on the cusp of completion.

The whispers started with a tweet from La12tuittera, which relayed Argentine reporter Claudito Freire said in a radio interview with FOXSports a deal between Miami and Boca for Almendra was "almost all agreed."

That was followed up by a report from another Argentine source, this time Giusee Duranti of Sector Bostero, claiming the sides had agreed on a transfer fee of around $10 million.

Those reports have yet to be officially confirmed, but there does at least appear to be mutual interest between the sides. Almendra has been the subject of additional transfer rumors in recent days, however, with high-profile sides such as West Ham and AS Roma reportedly also interested in his services.

Almendra has only appeared in six of 19 Superliga matches this season, but he's considered one of South America's bright young prospects. The midfielder has featured for both Argentina's U-17 and U-20 sides and has netted two goals in 24 Superliga appearances overall.
