Will Ferrell hits the road for LAFC's Concacaf Champions League clash with Club Leon

Will Ferrell - fires up LAFC fans ahead of CCL clash in Leon

LAFC co-owner Will Ferrell has a case of #CCLFever, as he was spotted in Mexico on Tuesday evening as his team got ready to face Club Leon in the Concacaf Champions League Round of 16.

He met Leon president Jesus Martinez and received a jersey, but the Hollywood funnyman wasn't about to keep it limited to the executive suites. He was also spotted down on the field ahead of the game, pumping up the LAFC faithful that made the trip.

Ferrell has regularly been a vocal advocate for his team, the most boisterous and visible of a star-studded group of stakeholders that also counts Mia Hamm, Magic Johnson and Nomar Garciaparra among its membership.

LAFC are in the Champions League after a record-breaking 2019 that some them set the single-season MLS points record, only to fall in the Western Conference Championship. Following the trip to Leon, they'll host the Liga MX side on Feb. 27 in the second leg of the series (10 pm ET | FS1, TUDN).
