Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez set to make preseason debut for LA Galaxy in fixture with Toronto FC

Chicharito - LA Galaxy - warm-up top

The Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez era in Los Angeles is set to officially get underway, as the marquee signing of the MLS offseason will reportedly feature in the LA Galaxy's Saturday preseason matchup against Toronto FC at Dignity Health Sports Park.

Hernandez had been waiting to receive his P-1 visa before he could take the field for the Galaxy, but those final nuts and bolts have been squared away, with head coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto confirming on Friday that expects his new forward to feature in Saturday's match in some capacity.

The match is scheduled to kick off at 6 pm ET as the Galaxy will look to grab a third straight win to start their 2020 preseason, coming off victories over the Vancouver Whitecaps and the New England Revolution. While Hernandez doesn't figure to play a particularly heavy load of minutes as he continues to gain fitness, it should be a good first look at how the Mexican superstar is fitting in so far with his new club.
