TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Signing
Sporting KC have acquired center back Winston Reid on loan from West Ham, the club announced Friday.
Reid, 31, hasn't played made a competitive senior appearance since March 2018 due to injuries. He joined West Ham in 2010 and made 223 appearances with the club, the majority of which in the Premier League.
Reid was also linked with Nashville SC before joining SKC.
The New Zealand international joins Matt Besler, Roberto Puncec, Botond Barath, Andreu Fontas and Graham Smith as options in central defense. SKC are looking to rebound from a 2019 season that saw the club concede 67 goals en route to missing the playoffs.
