LAFC impress in final tuneup before Concacaf Champions League with 3-1 win over Toronto FC

Carlos Vela and co. celebrate - LAFC preseason THUMB

LAFC wrapped up their 2020 preparations with a 3-1 preseason win over Toronto FC, behind goals from Brian Rodriguez, Carlos Vela and 15-year-old academy standout Christian Torres. LAFC face Club Leon in the Concacaf Champions League next week.

Rodriguez found the back of the net for the third time in preseason, opening the scoring after 20 minutes.

After halftime, TFC equalized through first round SuperDraft selection Ifunanyachi Achara. It was his second goal in as many preseason games, as Toronto are earlier in their 2020 preparations without CCL soccer this season.

From there on out, LAFC took control. Vela re-established his side's lead in the 74th minute, finishing from close range after swift work by Latif Blessing.

To cap off a great afternoon for the reigning Supporters' Shield winners, 15-year-old Torres found the back of the net with a first-time finish.
