MLS Preseason 2020: LA Galaxy beat New England Revolution 2-1 on Pavon's

Cristian Pavon - LA Galaxy - Close up

Ethan Zubak and Cristian Pavon each scored for the LA Galaxy before halftime, and Guillermo Barros Schelotto's men held on to edge Bruce Arena's New England Revolution 2-1 at the Dignity Health Sports Park Track and Field Stadium.

Sebastian Lletget's long diagonal ball helped set up Pavon's stylish goal, which stood up as the winner and showed what Kljestan might be capable of with the attacking talent around him at his new club.

Gustavo Bou scored a consolation goal just before the break for the Revs, who were playing their first match of the preseason against a Galaxy side that has won both its preseason games.

Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez did not feature for LA, but most other regulars for both sides figured into the affair. That included a full 90-minute shift for LA's Joe Corona as well as New England's Andrew Farrell and Henry Kessler.

Antonio Delamea and Michael Mancienne were unavailable, per Revs senior staff writer and editor Jeff Lemieux.
