The Seattle Sounders got their first preseason victory of 2020 on Wednesday, though it took them a bit longer to earn it.

Handwalla Bwana scored the 98th-minute winner in a 3-2 victory over Loyola Marymount University of Los Angeles, in an extended scrimmage that ran a scheduled 105 minutes.

Raul Ruidiaz opened the scoring and Jordy Delem hit a 55th-minute leveler to make it 2-2 before wholesale changes came following a break at 60 minutes.

Also of note, Gustav Svensson again started at center back as the Sounders continue to explore solutions in the middle of their back four while having only two natural center backs on the roster.

Seattle have until Feb. 20 to evaluate that question and others. That's when they open Concacaf Champions League play away to Olimpia in the first leg of their round of 16 tie.
