MLS Preseason 2020: FC Cincinnati open with 3-0 win over Phoenix Rising FC

FC Cincinnati opened their second preseason in club history on Wednesday with a comfortable 3-0 victory over USL Championship side Phoenix Rising FC at the Kino Sports Complex in Tuscon, Arizona.


Tommy McCabe and Andrew Gutman scored before halftime for Cincy, each on goals set up by 2020 MLS SuperDraft second-round selection Rey Ortiz.

Joseph-Claude Gyau added to the score eight minutes after halftime for Cincy, who have two more preseason games in Arizona scheduled over the next week.


Manager Ron Jans' side will play MLS foes Sporting Kansas City on Saturday at Grande Sports World in Casa Grande, Arizona. They wrap up this first phase of their 2020 preparations against another USL foe, El Paso Locomotive FC, next Wednesday back at the Kino Sports Complex.
