TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

If the LA Galaxy weren’t able to sign Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez, Rogelio Funes Mori was Plan B, SI’s Grant Wahl reports.

It would have reportedly taken a $10 million transfer fee and an annual salary of $4 million to $5 million to land the 28-year-old Monterrey forward.

Of course, the Argentine could still compete in Major League Soccer with expansion side Inter Miami CF, coached by former Rayados manager Diego Alonso, a possibility, Wahl reported.

If Funes Mori is keen on a move to Los Angeles, LAFC could be a destination for the former Sueño MLS winner, according to Wahl, should the club part with Diego Rossi as MLSsoccer.com's Matt Doyle has suggested.

The 28-year-old Funes Mori, Monterrey's second all-time leading scorer, has scored 16 goals across all competitions this season. He has helped Monterrey capture two Liga MX titles and a Concacaf Champions League trophy in four-and-a-half years.
