Inter Miami CF had a busy Thursday, selecting forward Robbie Robinson at No. 1 and defender Dylan Nealis at No. 3 in the 2020 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas, but the 2020 expansion club could also soon make a major splash for Colombian forward Roger Martinez.

ESPN is reporting Miami are willing to pay $15 million for the standout from Liga MX side Club America. The updates follows a report in December, where Martinez was identified as a Designated Player target who’d play alongside Argentine midfielder Matias Pellegrini.

Aside from playing for Club America, Martinez has also been under contract at Argentine side Racing Club and Chinese side Jiangsu Suning. Along the way, he’s been loaned to La Liga club Villarreal and Argentine clubs Aldosivi and Deportivo.

On the international level, Martinez has two goals in 17 appearances for Colombia. He was a big part of La Tricolor’s Copa America squads in 2016 and 2019.

Miami are set to open their inaugural MLS campaign March 1 at reigning Supporters’ Shield winners LAFC.
