TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Loan

FC Dallas have loaned attacker Pablo Aranguiz to Universidad de Chile on a year-long loan with option to buy, the club announced Monday. Aranguiz spent most of 2019 on loan with Unión Española.

Aranguiz, 22, arrived in Dallas in the summer of 2018 as a promising young player but didn't quite find his feet, playing 844 minutes across the second half of 2018 and first part of 2019.

He made seven league appearances with Unión Española last season, the club that Dallas originally acquired the player from in 2018. At the time, Aranguiz was in the midst of his best professional season yet, with five goals and five assists in 13 appearances. He was voted No. 18 on MLSsoccer.com's 22 Under 22 rankings in 2018.

Aranguiz has also featured for the Chilean U-23 side.

Dallas are loaded in midfield, with Homegrowns Paxton Pomykal, Brandon Servania and Edwin Cerrillo earning regular playing time alongside Designated Player Bryan Acosta, while the club recently acquired Thiago Santos. Pomykal and Jesus Ferreira occupied most of the minutes at Aranguiz's preferred No. 10 role last season.

FCD open their season against the Philadelphia Union on February 29.
