Christian Rivera - Deportivo Cali - 2019

Minnesota United reportedly interested in Deportivo Cali midfielder Christian Rivera

After trading Darwin Quintero to the Houston Dynamo, Minnesota United FC are reportedly in the market for another Colombian midfielder.

The Loons are looking to lure Christian Rivera away from Deportivo Cali, according to reporter Juan Arango, who referenced a Cali radio show in a tweet.

The 23-year-old Rivera is primarily a central midfielder who can also play defensive midfield. He scored a goal and has one assist in 16 appearances in Liga Aguila I and scored once in eight appearances in Liga Aguila II and also played in Copa Sudamericana.

Rivera, who joined Cali after a loan spell with Deportivo Pasto, coached by Octavio Zambrano, would join an impressive midfield that includes Jan Gregus and Ozzie Alonso, Young Designated Player Thomas Chacon and Ethan Finlay and Kevin Molino.
