A new report suggests outgoing New York City FC manager Domenec Torrent could end up remaining in the Western Hemisphere, though not in MLS or even North America.

Torrent sees South America as a possible destination in 2020, tweeted Andre Herman of Brazilian media group Globo on Saturday. He adds that Atletico Paranense, a Brazilian Serie A club based in Curitiba, has been in contact with Torrent.
The former right-hand man of Pep Guardiola, Torrent guided NYCFC to their best-ever regular season in 2019, his first full year as a first-team manager in the top flight of any domestic league. He appeared to be in a reflective mood himself on Twitter earlier Saturday, perhaps suggesting a move was near.

The Cityzens are still searching for their own manager after they and Torrent agreed mutually to part ways this fall. At one point, City Football Group's Giovanni van Bronckhorst appeared a likely replacement, though that chatter seems to have halted.
