Columbus Crew SC have added to their 2020 roster by re-signing forward Jordan Hamilton and signing GK Matt Lampson, the club announced Thursday.

Hamilton, 23, was acquired by the Crew from Toronto FC in the summer and made four substitute appearances. Lampson, 30, made one MLS appearance with the LA Galaxy in 2019. The move is a homecoming for Lampson, who began his career as a Crew Homegrown signing in 2012 and made 16 league appearances there across four seasons.

“In putting together our roster for next season, it is important that we continue to have competition at each and every position,” club president and GM Tim Bezbatchenko said in a club statement. “Both Jordan and Matt’s MLS experience make our roster stronger and we’re confident there will be battles for valuable playing time in their respective positions. We are glad to have both players back in our community and we look forward to their contributions in the 2020 campaign.

Hamilton was a highly-regarded prospect to come out of Toronto FC's academy, making his MLS debut in 2014. He earned his first start in 2016 and has made 57 MLS appearances, scoring 11 goals. Lampson was named 2018 MLS Humanitarian of the Year for his work with the LampStrong Foundation, focused on providing financial, emotional and motivational support to cancer patients and their families.

The Crew now have three goalkeepers and three forwards on their senior roster, heading towards 2020.
