TRANSFER TRACKER STATUS: Report

Prolific Pachuca striker Franco Jara could make the move north to MLS this winter, according to a new report from ESPN Mexico.

The Argentine frontrunner has been one of Liga MX’s most consistent scorers since arriving at Pachuca in 2015, notching 59 goals over the past four-plus years and helping Los Tuzos win the 2016 Clausura and 2017 Concacaf Champions League trophies.

He’s reportedly entering the final six months of his contract, however, and Pachuca – who fell just short of the liguilla (playoffs) in the current 2019 Apertura campaign with a ninth-place finish – are apparently willing to make a deal to prevent him from leaving for nothing come summer.

Journalist Mac Resendiz reports that three suitors have shown interest: two from Liga MX and one MLS club, none of them specifically named. Jara, 31, previously turned out for the likes of Benfica and Olympiacos and earned four Argentina national team caps earlier in his career.
