Report: New Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho eyeing move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic

Jose Mourinho, Zlatan Ibrahimovic - Manchester United - 2017

Jose Mourinho made a head-turning return to management this week by replacing Mauricio Pochettino in the hot seat at Tottenham Hotspur, and now the word is that he's looking across the Atlantic for a reunion with one of the few egos in world soccer that can compare to his.

The Telegraph reported on Thursday that Mourinho is "poised" to bring Zlatan Ibrahimovic to North London as the Swedish striker mulls his next move after two seasons with the LA Galaxy

Having refreshed his career in MLS, where he scored 52 goals and 17 assists in 56 regular-season appearances (53 starts) and made innumerable headlines with both his feet and his mouth, Ibrahimovic has already been linked to AC Milan and Bologna, among others.

Mourinho and Ibra have a lengthy history, having worked together at Inter Milan and Manchester United, and are open admirers of one another. Zlatan, now 38, wrote in his autobiography that Mourinho was "a guy I was basically willing to die for" and warmly praised the Portuguese coach's skillset and mentality.
