Real Monarchs, the USL team of Real Salt Lake, are in the title game for the first time and are going to the game in numbers. Team owner Dell Loy Hansen hired a charter flight on Saturday to Louisville, per a club spokesperson to MLSsoccer.com, and invited the entire Real Monarchs staff, families of the players and coaches, some RSL staff and sponsors and Real Monarchs supporters in the Wasatch Legion supporters group.
The spokesperson said many of the supporters who took the charter flight to the title game drive over an hour each way to home games, and this is the first time in USL history the visiting team flew supporters to the final.
RSL are one of the leading clubs in MLS in terms of Homegrown signings and many of the players produced through the RSL academy have played or currently play for Real Monarchs. The USL outfit are currently managed by former MLS defender Jamison Olave.
The 2019 USL Championship Final will be Sunday evening at Lynn Stadium in Louisville, Kentucky and is officially sold out. The game will be televised on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes at 7:30 pm ET.
