The Finland national team have reached their first-ever major international tournament, and a trio of MLS players have helped the effort.
Minnesota United midfielder Robin Lod and Montreal Impact defender Jukka Raitala both went the full 90 minutes of the Fins' 3-0 victory over Lichtenstein Friday, a win that sealed their side's place in the 2020 UEFA European Championships.
Montreal winger Lassi Lappalainen wasn't in the squad but has made five appearances during Finland's qualifying effort. And former Minnesota midfielder Rasmus Schuller appeared in six qualifiers.
The victory sealed Finland's second-place finish in Group J, a pool of six teams that also includes Italy, Greece, Armenia and Bosnia.
Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki scored a brace in the victory, including a goal from the penalty spot, to increase his qualifying total to nine goals in the Fins' historic run.
