With Carlos Vela re-writing the MLS record books in 2019, could another mercurial Mexican forward be on his way to MLS?

That's the word from Mexican outlet Informador, which in a story about Chivas de Guadalajara striker Alan Pulido trying to become the first Mexican Liga MX Golden Boot winner in eight years, included a mention that the player is drawing interest from an unnamed MLS side.

Pulido, 28, has been at Chivas since 2016, winning a Liga MX title, a Copa MX title and the 2018 Concacaf Champions League title, all under current San Jose Earthquakes head coach Matias Almeyda. He's also been an intermittent Mexico international since making his debut in 2014.

The forward's had an unusual career so far. Coming through and establishing himself as a rising star at Tigres UANL, Pulido left Mexico and played for two Greek clubs, Levadiakos and Olympiacos, from 2014 to 2016. But disputes over his ability to sign as a free agent in Greece, which led to Tigres taking the case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, hampered his ability to settle in Europe. He returned to Mexico in 2016 to play for Chivas. Given his previous interest in playing abroad, however, he could be amenable to a move to MLS.
