CenturyLink Field is one of the highest-capacity venues in MLS, and held many of the league's attendance records until Atlanta United began playing at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in 2017. Last year's MLS Cup Final, in Atlanta, set an all-time attendance record for standalone MLS game, with 73,019.
Local radio announcer Jackson Felts announced on Thursday the stadium will be fully open for the game.
.@SoundersFC Owner Adrian Hanauer just confirmed to @IanFurnessSea that CenturyLink Field will be fully open for MLS Cup on November 10th. Stadium capacity is 72,000 people. Let's fill this place up, #EBFG! Tickets go on sale to the public tomorrow morning at 10am!— Jackson Felts (@JacksonKJR) October 31, 2019
The Sounders' attendance record in MLS play came in 2013, when 67,385 came out for a game against bitter rivals Portland Timbers. With Seattle soccer-crazy for the Sounders, even with the large capacity, expect the MLS Cup Final to be a hot ticket ahead of Nov. 10.
