Reviewing LAFC's penalty kick shouts in the Western Conference Final against Seattle

LAFC's Western Conference Final defeat was only their second at home in 2019. 


The Black and Gold took the lead on a set piece strike, only to concede three straight goals. Along the way, however, LAFC had four different appeals to the referee for a penalty kick. Watch the plays below: 


36th Minute


With the Sounders up 2-1, LAFC supporters were shouting for a penalty kick after Carlos Vela went down in the box on the challenge from Sounders center back Xavier Arreaga. No penalty called.

45th+ Minute


Just before the halftime whistle, fans were clamoring for a call again, this time for two alleged hand balls by Cristian Roldan and Arreaga in the box. Roldan's deflection received the most attention.

68th Minute


LAFC wanted a hand ball called on Seattle defender Xavier Arreaga, but referee Jair Marrufo wasn't having it.

72nd Minute


Did Sounders center back Kim Kee-hee commit a penalty kick foul when the ball made contact with his arm? Marrufo said play on.
